Between the ages of 2-16 weeks is the critical socialisation period where your puppy should be exposed to other dogs, places, and people.

This can also be difficult as puppies aren’t completely vaccinated and shouldn’t go outside. That’s where Puppy Parties comes in!

It’s as cool as it sounds and is a great way to socialise your pup with different dog breeds, sizes, smells and people. We start the party by playing everyone’s favourite, ‘Pass the Puppy’ where we pass everyone’s puppies around in a circle to get them used to being held by strangers (and so you can cuddle all the other puppies).

If it’s your first time owning a dog or it’s been some time since your last one then you might have a few questions you wanted answered. The nurses are more than happy to answer any questions you might have about:

  • Training – toilet training and play biting
  • Worming and flea treatment
  • Desexing – when and why
  • General Puppy Care – how to do a health check
  • Insurance – why and what to look out for

It’s a very relaxed environment where you can have a glass of wine or beer and chat with the other owners in the class and swap quirky stories about your fluff ball*. It also helps relax your puppy so they aren’t stressed every time they have to come to the vet.

Spots are limited and fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your ticket!

You don’t need to be a member/client of the Southern Cross Vet family either!

*Due to COVID-19, our puppy parties are done VIRTUALLY. This means you DROP OFF your puppy, grab a drink TO GO, watch them play as we stream LIVE on both our Facebook and Instagram pages, and then PICK UP your pup at the end of the event!
